Hi, I'm Allison, the transcriptionist behind A-List Transcription. I have lived in Lafayette for most of my life. I began my career working in print media. I started out as a typist for a daily newspaper while attending college, advancing into the positions of proofreader, copy editor, and finally graphic designer before transitioning to freelance work after completing college and marrying an active duty servicemember. Like many other military spouses, I jumped at the opportunity to learn a new skill online that could expand my ability to work remotely and have a career that could go wherever we did. I trained with CareerStep and began work for a large transcription service. Over the years I continued to sharpen my skills in graphic design, web design, transcription, and other related remote support tasks. This combination of work experience and skills led to a niche business supporting medical offices that need an extra hand a few hours here and there.
